We are the Young Guard of the Fasnachtsgsellschaft Schnurebegge 1926. We have been doing carnival in Basel as the Young Guard since 1936. Young Guard means we are all younger than 18, and of course all young gentlemen, because the Schnurebegge are a male clique. At 18 we are allowed to join the main group of the Schnurebegge.

You can find a lot of information on our website.

  • What's going on: Here you can see what we are doing and what we have just done.
  • Calendar: Here you can find the next events that are coming up.
  • All about carnival: As the name suggests, here you can reminisce and enjoy the past carnivals.
  • About us or why become a Schnurebegg: What does it mean to be a Schnurebegg? Why should I become one? And when and where do we practise anyway?
  • Would you like to play the piccolo or would you rather drum, then take a look at our piccolo or drum school!
